Favorite Books: Fovorites include The Lord of the Rings (entire series), Where the Mountain Casts Its Shadow (a deep journey into the extreme lives of adventurous, obsessive mountaineers and the impact on their families), Atlas Shrugged, We the Living, Anthem, Fountain Head (four Ayn Rand titles), and One Man's Wilderness. Moby Dick started out as a menotenous read, but eventual found a place in my favorites, as did a biography of Thomas Jefferson titled "Thomas Jefferson - A Life" by Willard Sterne Randall. Saving Fish from Drowning by Amy Tan also captivated me for a time. I may one day read it again.

Travel Experiences: WORTH MENTIONING - Alaska, thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail, multiple backpacking trips to Alqonquin Provincial Park of Ontario, Paris France, backpacking and research in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, backpacking in Isle Royal National Park, cross-country trip around Florida and to the Everglades, multiple Smokey Mountain National Park trips, Niagara Falls, New York, Washington D.C., and a Habitat for Humanity Global Village trip to Sri Lanka to rebuild homes after the 2004 tsunami.
